December 2018: AgrAbility PA Project Highlights
AgrAbility PA staff provided an educational session at the Pennsylvania Women’s Agriculture Network Symposium on December 12, 2018. The session focused on pain management and creating ergonomic workspaces in the field, shop or office. The event was attended by female farmers from across the state. Hands-on demonstrations included a Stand N’ Plant planter, Green Heron tools, various types of gloves, raised workspaces, workspace lighting, and more!
AgrAbility PA Project Assistant Abbie Spackman provided an educational session at the Natural Resource Conservation Service’s (NRCS) regional meeting on December 19, 2018. Over 50 NRCS staff members attended the session. The presentation taught attendees about using people-first language, working with individuals when there might be a communication barrier, and how to encourage farmers to seek support.
